Ahmedabad rewards an early start. With an 8 hrs / 80 km local package you can see the highlights without worrying about parking or finding autos between stops.
Morning: Sabarmati Ashram and Adalaj
Start at Sabarmati Ashram by 8 AM, when the riverfront is quiet. From there it is a 30-minute drive to the Adalaj stepwell, one of the finest in Gujarat.
Afternoon: the old city
- Sidi Saiyyed mosque and its famous stone lattice
- Jama Masjid and the Teen Darwaza market
- A heritage walk through the pols near Manek Chowk
Evening: Kankaria and Manek Chowk
End at Kankaria Lake for the evening lights, then head to Manek Chowk for dinner at the street food market that opens after the jewellery shops close.
Tip: tell the driver your plan at pickup – they know the shortest routes between these stops and where to park.
